Test run of a new website

Rewritten from scratch with updated visuals while keeping the original theme.
The website should now be easier to use and overall more pleasant to look at. It's also slightly more mobile-friendly unlike the old one.

New script section
  • Pulls script info similarly to the bot client meaning what you see on the website is the actual script information from the script file.
  • This means less work for me and more up to date info for you.

If you find any errors on the site or if something breaks or doesn't load quite right, please, do let me know. Thank you.

Post VU17 development update

Now that the final shitstorm around VU16 finally passed and there won't (hopefully) be any more changes to the game mechanics, I've decided to update the bot. About damn time, I know.

What's done:
  • API
    • Finally wrote a proper API, yeah I can't believe it either
    • Pretty barebones at this point, enough for a simple sweating script
  • Core
    • GUI interaction updated. Implemented alpha channel wildcards as well as tolerance to the scan
  • Lua
    • Added support for Lua scripting
    • Scripts will from now on be written only in lua
    • Lua scripts get access to the API and a few select .NET classes
  • Scripts
    • New sweating script written in lua.
What's left:
  • Rewritting the rest of the scripts in lua and expanding the API
  • Proper testing - I'll dig up the Xeon rig in the next couple of days and see if the memory reader still works across different computers. No point releasing a bot that only works for me.

Back on track

It took longer thn expected, but I've finally managed to restore the core components mostly to where they were in v1.2.7.**
I've also updated the navigation system to work with VU16, all that is left now is to update the InputSystem and scripts, and it's good to go.

If things continue to go smoothly, I should have a pre-release ready sometime next week.

VU16 Navigation preview

**It's not 100% back to where it was, some old bugs may be present and some features might be missing. Given how much is being updated in such a short period expect the initial release to be unstable.

Good news and Bad news

Good news first.
As predicted detecting, selecting and confirming targets is still roughly the same if not easier to automate now, despite the mobs having to be in 'view' of the camera, which is not a big deal.
Apart from a couple of minor annoyances, which will be sorted out in due time, VU16 will hardly pose a challenge to automation.

Now for the bad news,
sometime after the ER v1.2.8 update pre-release, my NAS(Network Attached Storage) server died and with it, went both the main drive containing the project files as well as the backup drive.
I suspect a power surge killed it, but I haven't taken it apart as of yet so I can't be sure.

Not all is lost however, as the secondary backup system (an external drive) contains project files from an earlier version.
These are unfortunately very old, it's version 1.1.4, meaning it's the pre-64-bit update that lacks; proper vector calculation navigation, the latest (and greatest) memory reader module, bug report(the website bug report can still be used) and many other optimization tweaks. The path-finding is an absolute mess as well.
Quite the fall eh.

Despite this annoying setback, I have already begun work on the application but reserved the announcement after tying out VU16.
A pre-release will be available as soon as it's in a usable state.

Think again.

InputSystem 4.0

With MindArk releasing more information and previews of the new Camera & Control System, I finally have enough information to begin designing the new InputSystem for Entropia Raider. While the core of the current InputSystem itself will need to be rewritten, the reduced complexity of the new controls will greatly improve the bot's performance and reliability. I will obviously need a lot more information, perhaps even testing before I begin the actual development. EntropiaRaider has no doubt been taken into consideration with this update so I expect the client security and automation detection to have been updated as well and will proceed accordingly. But so far this seems like a welcome change.

  • Other (noteworthy) changes
    • Removed the ability to drag out status bars. This feature caused many unintended issues and problems, and is no longer needed.
      • Yes, please! No longer having to use this for target validation would be a blessing.
    • Hit confirmation feedback on targets.
      • This could prove VERY useful.
    • Visual indication when a target is in range.
      • This as well.

The database connection, as well as any download links, will be disabled once the update goes live to protect the users in case new 3rd party application detection is implemented.

Entropia Raider v1.1.6 64bit client support

The next update is going to be big, and potentially devastating if it doesn't go as planned. From version 1.1.6 and up, the bot client will be a 64bit application, it's been a 32bit app up until now. I expect this to cause major compatibility issues, or not. It might just work flawlessly. Whatever the case, once polished and properly implemented this update will truly take it to the next level, not only in terms of speed but also reliability. Both the game and the bot running in 64bit will be able to utilize more than 2GB of system memory, speeding the processes up and eliminating crashes caused by running out of memory.
Take the memory scan as an example, right now it takes the bot several seconds to scan through 4095~ addresses, the 64bit version scans through 1048560~ in half the time.

The memory scan also finally has some visuals, not that it really matters given the speed anyway.

    Mapping Tool released!

A mapping tool has just been released.
This lightweight application can run in the background alongside LBML and Entropiatracker. It will automatically track your position and draw walkable paths wherever you go, with minimal to no impact on system performance, unlike the bot which requires a fairly significant amount of processing power.
You can then submit your maps directly from the application, just like you would using the bot.
This will hopefully make the mapping of the game world quicker and more reliable.
A download link can be found on the download page.
NOTE: Only Calypso is currently supported.

    1.1.0 Pathfinding

I'm pleased to announce that the initial testing of the newly implemented pathfinding module went surprisingly well.
With this module, the bot is able to utilize navigation maps to calculate the shortest possible route to the selected target.
As clearly evident from the video, the navigation algorithm needs to be updated to better utilize the pathfinding module.
The navigation maps are stored as simple 24-bit bitmaps, that can be edited either directly from the bot, or in any graphics editing software.

    Change of plans!

Change of plans! Due to security issues and also the fact that several test accounts were banned while running scripts from the script compiler, I've decided to take it out entirely. Thanks to the new API the scripts can be written much more efficiently, not to mention easily. The new hunting script, complete with combat healing and weapon switching is only about 400 lines, as opposed to the old one, which was over 2400 lines and didn't work half as good.
The subscription model will also be changed, the whole Patreon idea went out the window, and will instead be replaced by a one-time purchase plan. People whom have already purchased a sponsor license in the past automatically gain access to the bot without additional payments. The old version of the bot, version 2.0.8.8+, will be available for free, though it won't be updated as often.
If you have a sponsor license and would like early access to the new version, email support with your license key.

Development log thread: Entropia Raider 1.0 Development Log
Updated on a somewhat regular basis.

Friday 16th of June 2017 11:19:35 PM posted by Croser

    Entropia Raider 1.0 in development!

I had originally intended to continue iteration on the current system, however with the release of the script compiler in (0.)2.0.8.8, and your feedback, my priorities have shifted. As a testing grounds, this experiment if you will, was successful and I have learned lessons that are influencing how I design and implement features into the new iteration of the bot. I'm hoping Version 1.0 to be more than just a bot stitched together by some dude in his basement. It will be centered around a new and somewhat improved version of the script compiler, and will allow anyone and everyone to create and share their scripts. This would mean the community can finally fully engage in the development and script maintenance. Simply put, if you run a script, and it doesn't work the way it should, you'll be able to easily open it in the compiler and edit it. You would then be able share this edited version on the forums, where the community could vote to have new scripts added to the official script list or have the current ones replaced/edited.

I have also decided to change the license system to make the bot more accessible. Instead of ridiculously priced licenses, I'll be publishing a patreon page with the lowest tier being $1 per month. I intend for version 1.0 to have absolutely no advertisements, and as few useless features as possible, reliability and stability being the top priority.

Finally, anyone who had purchased a license in the past automatically gets top tier patreon rewards, this includes username mentioned as a supporter on the website and in the bot about menu, and access to the Entropia Raider API for personal use. It will take some time before the new version is officially launched, I still need to finish the core functionality and rewrite at least some scripts from the old version.

    Update 2.0.8.0

The release of update 2.0.8.0 is, once again, getting pushed back due to some unexpected compatibility issues caused by the new database system.
The update was initially supposed to be released with both the old and new database system, so that existing users may migrate their accounts through the bot. Unfortunately, something somewhere went horribly wrong, and even though this update features several fixes and improvements requested by the community, I have no intention of releasing a half-assed update that's more trouble than it's worth.
I have therefore decided to take out the old database system completely and finish implementing the new one before releasing it, existing users can use this form to migrate their accounts.

    Entropia Raider back online

First of the several planned security updates has been released and most of the security issues have been resolved.
Affected systems that will remain unavailable include the updater and license purchases. Donations were not affected, you can still support the poject.
All user information stored in the compromised database has been encrypted and the level of encryption used within the program has been increased, to prevent such issues in the future.
IP addresses have been removed from the database and are no longer being collected.

    Entropia Raider temporarily offline

I regret to inform you that Entropia Raider will be temporarily unavailable due to a database breach.
The project is fairly young and we simply cannot afford the security we would like to have (200$/mo is out of the question), so it was bound to happen sooner or later.
Even though the 'hacker' was kind enough not to mess with anything, he did leak some information. And for this reason it is not safe to use ER at this time.

The database connection was cut, so you will not be able to log in.

I will do my best to get everything up and running again as soon as possible.

    Update 2.0.6.7

Update 2.0.6.7 saw the light of day yesterday. For the majority of users it works well, and brought some useful additions, tweaks and fixes.
During the last days of testing, I decided to rewrite the core of the hunting script.
I found a few issues in complex use cases that were causing compatibility issues between the health monitor and the script.
Although it solved most of the issues, it still needs to be tweaked.
Once fully tweaked and ready for the next update, it should make the hunt-anywhere function more useful to mid-high level players.

    Update 2.0.6.3

The latest update makes use of a new database system thanks to which new users are no longer required to manually register on the forums.
This makes it easier for you to share your feedback but it also simplifies the bug report process.

In addition to the current email support, live chat support has been implemented into the website, and is available 20/7 to answer any questions you may have regarding the software and / or its features.
Bug reports, screenshots and requests for TeamViewer support should, however, be still directed to email support.
